Heat wave! When cold drinks don’t taste that cold anymore and when a cold shower is the only remedy against the heat. Yes that’s happening in the Netherlands right now! You won’t hear me complain though, finally time to go completely bare legged and go for a tan on my roof-terrace! Speaking about my roof-terrace, it definitely needs a complete make-over! You probably know I love clean backgrounds on outfit posts, so to make the outfit stand out more I edited the background black and white, so it won’t be that messy! What are you doing on days like these? Completely nothing? A beach visit? Swimming pool dive or do you prefer staying inside?
One of my daily reads is the blog of Angelica Blick, one of my style crushes. From edgy to bohemian, to girly to chique, she can pull off everything! When these shots caught my eye I saved them on my computer and somehow I can’t get my eyes off the dress, which is so perfectly combined with the black and leather details. I’m checking out the dress on the Zara website ever since to check the availability, because this one is on top of my wishlist. My bank account won’t let me buy it at the moment, so I’m keeping my fingers crossed! Do you have a style crush?
After posting this photo on instagram I received a lot of sweet reactions and a few requests on a DIY. So when I got some spare time this morning I made a video on how to do this braid. There aren’t many steps to follow, it’s very easy (as you can see on this video). Somehow the quality of video is reduced after editing them with iMovie, hope I can figure that out in the near future. Nevertheless, I hope you enjoy! Good luck!
While writing another post, something else caught my eye this morning, which had more priority than anything else: spreading the news of Isabel Marant designing for H&M! After countless of collaborations H&M is doing better and better, already loved the Maison Martin Margiela collection and the choice of Isabel Marant designing is the right way to go! You may know her from the items above and when I say ‘wedge sneaker’, you probably know which ones I mean (still never understood those). But I can’t wait for this one to arrive!! I’ve already wrote it down in my agenda, because the collection will arrive at the 14th of november this year and I won’t be missing it! She will design a collection of must-haves based on her own personal style, which is a mix of urban style, bohemian and rock & roll. Tip: watch this interview with Isabel for H&M.
Write it down, cause the 14th of november 2013 the collection will arrive in stores and online.
Dress – H&M Trend // Heels – Marni x H&M // Earrings – DIY
No matter how high temperatures rise, I wear black! Black shorts, black shoes, black skirts or dresses. So here is a new addition to my black collection, a little black dress with mesh sleeves and hem from the H&M Trend department. The heels are from the Marni x H&M collection, which I haven’t worn for quite a while. In fact, I think I only wore them twice. Still thinking about selling them to a new rightfull owner who offers them more walking-time than I do. Anyone interested already? For now I’ll change my laptop for a cold drink in the sun! Happy pre-summer everybody!

Summery days. I’m constantly thinking up new breezy combinations and mixing up garments in my mind. I feel inspired again, as I was so done with layering and buying clothes which are meant for fall/winter! Having a barbecue with friends tonight, first one of 2013! What are you doing on summer days like this?
Back from the silent, boom! I’m finished with my final school assignment for this year and boy that took some hours of sleep. Literally! Worked on the project untill 4 AM! But it’s finished, which means I’m back on the blog again! What I’ve been up to next to school this weekend? We celebrated the birthday of my boyfriend, which was on a perfect sunny day. Yes summer is about to arrive in the Netherlands!
Above some things I always bring with me. Including my zebra printed wallet
size isn’t equal to the amount of money unfortunately, keys and phone (yes I’ve been upgraded from iphone 4 to iphone 5, sharper instagram photos here I come). I always bring make-up, parfume and deo -not on photo- with me for busy and long days! A magazine for some reading material when waiting on the bus and last but not least my transparent business cards, which you can hardly see on the photo.
I am a little bit bored with the color of my hair lately. And when I say bored, I mean with the color of my hair. It’s just blonde, nothing more nothing less. I am thinking about going more grey-ish, but almost everyone tells me to keep it this way because of the damage it’ll do. Can’t get it out of my head though.. help! Anyone had bad or good experiences with bleaching or coloring the hair grey-ish/silver? Yes I’m very stubborn!
I’m starting to like quoted shirts more and more nowadays. Especially with a high waist skinny jeans or some great shorts like the ones above. So now is the right time to get fit and in shape before summer arrives, which means working out and eating healthy! Are you with me?
Dungarees – Zara // Vest – Zara // Mesh top – H&M // Boots – H&M
Wearing dungarees not only reminds me, but also brings me back in my childhood. Playing around with the straps and having difficulties going to the bathroom
don’t put your phone in the chest-pocket are back in my daily routine! It’s weekend again, which means working, working and working! Luckily I really like my job at the tapasbar. It’s always great to meat some of my followers during work, which happens more and more often nowadays! Keep coming, I really like meeting you! (oh and about not showing my face, I have a real sleepyhead I guess, not very photogenic today) Have a nice weekend everyone!
Everytime when Ivania from the blog Love Aesthetics posts a DIY I can’t think of anything else but: damn she is such a genius! Even though the best DIY’s are the ones that scream simplicity, it seems so sophisticated with the right details. Not only Ivania is giving me bulks of inspiration, but also Jennifer from A Merry Mishap (my favorite interior blog) and Geneva from DIY-blog A pair & a spare.

Sorry for the lack of posts this week. Somehow I couldn’t find time to photograph, write or blog. Luckily for me there is Instagram! I can’t believe I reached over 1200 followers on Instagram already, thank you so much! Can’t explain the proudness and love for you all! Got to hurry now, work to do! Have a nice weekend!
Top and shorts from Zara
What if the sun decides to show itself? I would be wearing this mix of prints! What would you wear?
When getting garments packed like this, I am thinking about ordering everything online in the future. Receiving packages is something I never get bored with! These cowprint shorts is a birthday gift from my sister and brother and I am so happy getting this gift! Fell in love with the print since I saw it at the givenchy pre-fall collection. Yes, Zara did a great job, again!
Dress – Monki // Mesh Shirt – Zara // Heels – Zara // Sunglasses – H&M
First time going bare legged this year and oh that feels great! No thick jeans, no umbrellas, no raincoats or a thousand layers to keep me warm, just a dress and heels. These snakeskin printed heels have waited long enough and now it’s finally time to show them again. I can’t wait for tonight to come: my best friend and I are going to play figurants in a new Dutch movie called Soof! (which is funny of course since people call me that way).
I’ve been featured on I Love Fashion News, showing my wardrobe on their site. When I got an email from ILFN I obviously couldn’t refuse to shoot my wardrobe but hell what a job. As a perfectionist I wanted to show you bits and pieces of the content in different themes and categories so you can imagine what a big mess my room was, with clothes an accessories piled up on my bed. But you won’t hear me complain, everything for the blog!
Here is something I want to introduce you to: Printic! As instagram lover I already thought of printing my instagram photos and tape them on my wall or -in this case- a piece of glass. As time passed by I actually never did so because I was simply too lazy to copy paste them in photoshop, print and cut them in right sizes. I think I wasn’t the only one, since someone thought up Printic! So of course I couldn’t refuse trying this app out, when I got an email introducing Printic to me. There wasn’t time to be unpatient about receiving the polaroid-sized photos, since they arrived three days after I placed the order. I wouldn’t write about this if I wasn’t convinced for the full 100%, you really have to try this! You can download the app in the appstore for free and within a few steps you’ve placed the order! (Pssst it’s almost mothersday, cute little gift don’t you think?)
Shirt – Lot Madeleine // Jeans – Cheap Monday // Boots – H&M // Lamp – DIY
Temperatures are rising but it’s still too cold to go outside bare-legged, let’s find a solution in between by turning a thick jeans in a little more breezy one. A Do-It-Yourself without many supplies. The only thing you’ll need is sciccors and tweezers. Nothing less, nothing more!
1. Draw lines where you want to distress the jeans. It’s important to draw them while wearing the jeans, so you’ll cut on the exact spots you want.
2. Make two cuts along each other (the more space in between, the bigger your distressed part will be).
3. Go wild with your tweezers and pull out all vertical threads. This takes some time but it’s worth it!
Next to shopping there are other things which make me happy. Buying flowers and magazines it is. There isn’t a better way to spend a sunday with fresh new flowers and reading magazines. Inspiration overload while reading this Elle Stijlbijbel (Styleguide). Warning: After reading this magazine the urge of shopping
and your wishlist is extremely increased!
All Zara except the mesh top from H&M
I was photographing my wardrobe yesterday (soon more about that) and came by some orange shades. Upcoming Tuesday the Netherlands is cloaked in orange as we have
our last Queensday (next year we will have a king!) Every year it’s the same song: people getting all dressed up crazy with big oversized hats, flags, orange sunnies and 1$ T-shirts with “fun” quotes all over it. That’s great when you’re 5 years old. But why not go festive, yet in vogue? No need for all the fuzz. Already got my outfit as I probably go for the striped blouse and orange bag and I couldn’t be any happier with my summer coat! So for the dutchies: what will you be wearing?
