When getting garments packed like this, I am thinking about ordering everything online in the future. Receiving packages is something I never get bored with! These cowprint shorts is a birthday gift from my sister and brother and I am so happy getting this gift! Fell in love with the print since I saw it at the givenchy pre-fall collection. Yes, Zara did a great job, again!

Bare legged

Dress – Monki // Mesh Shirt – Zara // Heels – Zara // Sunglasses – H&M

First time going bare legged this year and oh that feels great! No thick jeans, no umbrellas, no raincoats or a thousand layers to keep me warm, just a dress and heels. These snakeskin printed heels have waited long enough and now it’s finally time to show them again. I can’t wait for tonight to come: my best friend and I are going to play figurants in a new Dutch movie called Soof! (which is funny of course since people call me that way).

Meet my wardrobe

Sofie Kerkhofs : 12:29 06/05/2013 | Category : Must see

I’ve been featured on I Love Fashion News, showing my wardrobe on their site. When I got an email from ILFN I obviously couldn’t refuse to shoot my wardrobe but hell what a job. As a perfectionist I wanted to show you bits and pieces of the content in different themes and categories so you can imagine what a big mess my room was, with clothes an accessories piled up on my bed. But you won’t hear me complain, everything for the blog!

Curious to see the result? Read the full report over here!

Printic

Sofie Kerkhofs : 11:40 04/05/2013 | Category : Must see

Here is something I want to introduce you to: Printic! As instagram lover I already thought of printing my instagram photos and tape them on my wall or -in this case- a piece of glass. As time passed by I actually never did so because I was simply too lazy to copy paste them in photoshop, print and cut them in right sizes. I think I wasn’t the only one, since someone thought up Printic! So of course I couldn’t refuse trying this app out, when I got an email introducing Printic to me. There wasn’t time to be unpatient about receiving the polaroid-sized photos, since they arrived three days after I placed the order. I wouldn’t write about this if I wasn’t convinced for the full 100%, you really have to try this! You can download the app in the appstore for free and within a few steps you’ve placed the order! (Pssst it’s almost mothersday, cute little gift don’t you think?)

Rip this jeans

Shirt – Lot Madeleine // Jeans – Cheap Monday // Boots – H&M // Lamp – DIY

Temperatures are rising but it’s still too cold to go outside bare-legged, let’s find a solution in between by turning a thick jeans in a little more breezy one. A Do-It-Yourself without many supplies. The only thing you’ll need is sciccors and tweezers. Nothing less, nothing more!

1. Draw lines where you want to distress the jeans. It’s important to draw them while wearing the jeans, so you’ll cut on the exact spots you want.
2. Make two cuts along each other (the more space in between, the bigger your distressed part will be).
3. Go wild with your tweezers and pull out all vertical threads. This takes some time but it’s worth it!

Next to shopping there are other things which make me happy. Buying flowers and magazines it is. There isn’t a better way to spend a sunday with fresh new flowers and reading magazines. Inspiration overload while reading this Elle Stijlbijbel (Styleguide). Warning: After reading this magazine the urge of shopping and your wishlist is extremely increased!

cloaked in orange

All Zara except the mesh top from H&M

I was photographing my wardrobe yesterday (soon more about that) and came by some orange shades. Upcoming Tuesday the Netherlands is cloaked in orange as we have our last Queensday (next year we will have a king!) Every year it’s the same song: people getting all dressed up crazy with big oversized hats, flags, orange sunnies and 1$ T-shirts with “fun” quotes all over it. That’s great when you’re 5 years old. But why not go festive, yet in vogue? No need for all the fuzz. Already got my outfit as I probably go for the striped blouse and orange bag and I couldn’t be any happier with my summer coat! So for the dutchies: what will you be wearing?

Wearing H&M from top to bottom, with the denim shirt from my boyfriend! Earrings are DIY.

One of the favorite (and only) locations I love to shoot photos is here at “Chasseveld” in the centre of my hometown Breda. Although it is located in the city centre you barely hear cars or any other kind of traffic. Just birds and people passing by. And it might sound weird, but I really like the pavement and textures on the ground. See what I mean by the photos above? Sun is finally showing itself to the Netherlands and I can’t be more pleased. I survived the dentist this morning brrrrr so now it’s time to relax! What are your plans today?

Anna Scott & SoPR

Sofie Kerkhofs : 15:15 22/04/2013 | Category : Style

As said in the previous post, I visited the Press Days in Amsterdam last Wednesday. I went to Anna Scott and SoPR together with Hazal and Yvette to visit their showrooms and see some new collections. This is what we saw:

As first we visited Anna Scott at their beautifull showroom. Anna Scott can be recognized by their colorfull collections and patterns. They showed the Winter collection 2013 and told me something about the re-styling of their lookbook. They wen’t for more playfull and experiental graphic design. Favorite piece was the leopard coat on the fourth photo. And I can’t get enough of the electric blue shades in collections, do you? Of course my style is way more minimalistic and less colorfull than Anna Scott, but they have great items in their collection which can be easily matched with “color-less” pieces!

After Anna Scott we went by SoPR, who represent various cool brands, where I photographed my favorite items I saw. Like the quilted leather jacket by Goosecraft, which I would want to take home with me right away. Also got to see the new collection of Sabrina (by AfterDRK) for Nelly.com, which launches tomorrow! That a-symetric metallic skirt is gorgeous! And wouldn’t you want to own a Vlieger&vanDam pistol bag? Last but not least the Nelly.com shoe section; hello white plateaus!

Liked what you saw?

Jacket – Vintage // Leather&Mesh top and Pants – Zara // Bag – Nelly.com // Shoes – Maison Martin Margiela x H&M

Boom. Overload of transparency on this blog these days, isn’t it? This is what I wore when I attended the press days and visited SoPR and Anna Scott together with fellow bloggers Hazal and Yvette, last Wednesday. It was quite a hot day so time to take out my new top from Zara! Will show you what I saw at the press days later this weekend! Have a very nice (sunny?) weekend!!

Transparent Business cards

Sofie Kerkhofs : 14:49 18/04/2013 | Category : Must see, New in

After a transparent bag it’s time for.. yes.. I fell in love when my new business cards arrived last Tuesday. They absolutely exceed my expectations! With my blog moved to Nelly.com and the growth of it, I thought it was about time to get me some new business cards too that match my blog and content a bit more than the old ones. So talking about that with my friend Marleen, who is also a product designer (click here) she came up with a idea a couple of days later. Clean, minimalistic, sophisticated and innovative; transparent business cards! So I went searching on the web for companies who make such cards, but it seemed an endless search. As transparency is an upcoming trend (whether you take this literally or not) there aren’t many companies executing this product already.

You can understand I was so relieved I found one who could help me out! NVS Design is a Dutch business specialized in webdesign, graphic design and offline media. And though they work for companies in general, they are also pleased to work for individuals like me! From the first call till now it is just a few weeks later and here they are, booming! I couldn’t be any happier with the result! The material (PVC) is from a great quality, the design is sharp and clean and the matte finish makes them even more sophisticated. Did you fall love with this new trend and looking for new cards too? Visit their website here and take a look. Thanks Niels and Marleen!

DIY FELT BAG

Sofie Kerkhofs : 12:00 14/04/2013 | Category : DIY

Thought it was time for a new DIY project! This time starring a felt tote bag inspired by the transparent bag of Nelly.com, which is absolutely my favorite bag at the moment but sometimes it’s less functional with revealing the total content. This one is made out of a thick felt fabric, which will make this bag multifunctional as clutch, tote bag and felt basket for magazines! Down below a few steps to make your own! Oh and pssst.. there will be an VIP-code on the blog tomorrow for a early access (yes a vip-access) to the Nelly.com sale!

You will need
-Felt fabric (this one is 4mm thick)
-Magazine (or other item to measure)
-Sciccors
-Sewingmachine (or needle and thread)
-Clip

Steps
1. Draw lines to create size of the bag by using a magazine (for instance). Make sure you will draw an extra 2cm on each side. You’ll need this spare fabric to sew the fabrics together. You will need 2 bigger parts for the front & back, a smaller part for the bottom and 2 fabrics which will fit the sides (these last two can be measured by the hights of the front & back and the width of the bottom part).
2. Cut out the drawings (remember to create the spare centimetres on each side!)
3. Sew everything together with the spare fabrics (the striped pieces on the photo above) on the inside.

Planned this post yesterday actually, but it was my sisters birthday and eating lunch and birthdaycake took the overhand. Some of you already seen it on Instagram, but meet my new printed pants from H&M! It has a high-waist fit, which makes it even more great. And also this leather/mesh top from Zara is a newbie in my wardrobe. Will show it to you in an outfitpost soon!

Had a great time at the CreamPR Bloggersevent last tuesday night. Theme of the night; DIY. Couldn’t be better. The night was hosted by top-blogger Linda tol and there were several activities to attend. We got to DIY our own fashionology necklace and a pair of Van Haren heels (what do you think of my little superman-cape-like heels?) and got some technology advise about our blogs from Chef du Web. I also joined a style contest where we got to style our own look together with stylist Maartje van den Broek and win the entire outfit when posting it online (unfortunately didn’t got the time to post this earlier, but the winner totally deserved it!). We also got some more background information about Kiboots and last but not least we got to meet Winde Rienstra, remember her collection I got to see at the Amsterdam Fashion Week last january? She is such a nice person to speak to and also very interested in others. Seeing her work more closely shows all the craftmanship, passion and effort she put into her work.

Besides the cool event, it is always so nice to meet new people and especially bloggers who I normally only see/speak to on screen. Always a funny little game to guess the right blog to the right name and person. Thanks CreamPR for this amazing event!!

Dungaree + Winner

Denim Dungarees

Dungaree from Zara, Boots and Shirt from H&M, Chain Necklace from Nelly.com

Felt like I jumped back in time wearing this dungaree on my birthday, last sunday. I actually doubted a bit whether to buy it or not. But went back to Zara after I caught myself thinking about it every 5 minutes (yes that’s the cue to buy an item). Had a lovely birthday with cake, friends, confetti, party and wine! Thanks for all the lovely birthdaywishes, but I guess there is another more interesting thing for you to know… the winner of the Nelly.com transparent bag give-away! As some of you already saw on Instagram, I numbered all the entries and used a random number generator on the internet to pick one.

And the winner is…  #11 Astrid!
Congrats! I will send you an email in a minute!
So sorry for the ones who didn’t won, wish I could treat you all! The bag is still available at Nelly.com, so for the ones who are desperately in love click here!
